ISHLT Academies Course

ESOT in collaboration with the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation

13 November 2022, Prague, Czech Republic

The purpose of this Academy is to provide a concise review of clinical knowledge and an outline of the essential professional skills for candidate assessment and longitudinal support for mechanical circulatory support patients of all ages. This Course should serve programs providing mechanical circulatory support with a tool to review their standards of care, develop protocols, and implement guidelines established in management of mechanical circulatory support patients. An additional focus will be laid on career perspectives and advice in MCS to develop a more diverse group of clinicians.

This course is designed at the level of clinicians and allied health professionals who are in the early stages of their careers. This course would also benefit those who are part of a new program or desire a comprehensive foundational review. The information that is presented will cover core competencies and is intended to provide a strong foundation of the overarching principles of mechanical circulatory support.
